<p>
Magnetism is a size dependent property. At the macroscale, ferromagnetic
materials exhibit remanance – when magnetized, they can stay magnetized.
</p>
<p>
At the nanoscale, ferromagnetic materials behave paramagnetically.
They are magnetized in an applied field, but when the field is removed, they
spontaneously de-magnetize. This simulation allows students to investigate
the effects of particle size, applied field, temperature and the probability of a
ferromagnetic particle staying magnetized.
