Support aliases search in main page combinator select #78
Comments
Note: the substance search page already support this. Technically it's not straightforward: the component on the main page is a selector, the text input here does not perform a search but filters amongst the select elements. Supporting aliases here is still doable, but I'm not sure this is such a good idea after all: it might be confusing if filtering shows choices that are apparently unrelated to the characters the user typed. One thing we could do on the other hand is replacing the "Search in this list" placeholder of the text field by something more explicit, like "Filter those items". |
I understand the point, but I still think this little confusion would be compensated by helping users find the substance they look for. Especially if the substance search page alrealy do it, why would the two systems work differently ? The way you did it for the substances pages (redirecting instead of showing different results than the input) is good :) |
Today an user told me about the search. |
Currently, users cannot find a drug in browsing its aliases.
Making it possible would make browsing the website more easy for users looking for meds, as an exemple.
