ESP32S2-Saola WS2812

Hi all,
I'm new to zephyr and I've got myself an official ESP32S2-Saola board. I managed to get some basic examples working and now I want to control the onboard WS2812 LED using the WS2812 driver, using the example code. For some reason, the build always fails stating:

undefined reference to `__device_dts_ord_7'

I suspect the following warnings have something to do with it:

warning: The choice symbol WS2812_STRIP_GPIO (defined at drivers/led_strip/Kconfig.ws2812:29) was
selected (set =y), but no symbol ended up as the choice selection. See
http://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/kconfig.html#CONFIG_WS2812_STRIP_GPIO and/or look up
WS2812_STRIP_GPIO in the menuconfig/guiconfig interface. The Application Development Primer, Setting
Configuration Values, and Kconfig - Tips and Best Practices sections of the manual might be helpful

Excluding target from build.

Which I don't get, as far as I know, the necessary macro's are defined in prj.conf (added below).

The build succeeds if I comment out all the usages of the strip const:
